We are one mission, and we want to lift each other up in solidarity.
As current events continue to unfold in our part of the world, we want to continue lifting up our brothers and sisters in Ukraine.
Donate to the Ukraine relief Fund
At the start of the war, Young Life MEA created a Ukraine Relief Fund to support our staff on the ground. Your donations cover essential needs and additional expenses to continue ministry, such as transportation, gas, generators, building supplies for shelters, portable equipment for tent camps and so much more. 100% of the donations are directed toward war relief.
Ukraine Update
- The Young Life team in Ukraine marked its 30th anniversary this fall!
- An all-staff conference with 160 participants was held in October, focusing on introducing Jesus to one more teen, one more kid with special needs, one more orphan, one more young mom, one more college student.
- Winter camps on underway, with the first camp taking place in Western Ukraine in early January.
- Young Life ministry keeps going even in the cities destroyed by the military operations. Depending on the circumstances, it takes on a different format, such as helping kids get education in a different city not affected by war, or befriending a kid whose friends left because of it, or taking care of a fatherless child and her mother.
- Young Life Ukraine keeps pursuing the dream of having 10,000 volunteer leaders by 2030! Join us in prayer!
- Financial systems continue operating, and the funds are transferred to the Young Life teams.
- Continue praying with the YL Ukraine staff for the end of the war, unity of the Ukrainian people, protection, liberation, justice, and healing.
About Ukraine
Located on the western edge of Russia, Ukraine has a population of more than 40 million. Ukraine is currently fighting a war with Russia, which brought significant instability in all areas. Sadly, many Young Life clubs were forced to close, many leaders moved to different, safer locations, and the conflict itself added great emotional strain to our staff.
But the new reality hasn’t stopped them. From the inception of Young Life Ukraine in 1997, the staff and leadership in this country have been committed to their calling. They are spirited, trained, and greatly invested in going after every kid and introducing them to Jesus.
The Young Life, the training center model created and used in Ukraine, is incredible. Early on, we identified strategic cities and set up a training center within those cities. They acted like a hub where we could bring interested leaders from the region to work with our leadership to see Young Life in full operation.
