Middle EurAsia

Welcome to Young Life Middle EurAsia!

An international family still passionate about introducing kids to Jesus in Armenia, Central Asia, the Far West, and Ukraine.

Young Life Middle EurAsia – where is it, anyway?

Indeed, the name is fictional, and there is no such thing as Middle EurAsia on the map!

But as we brainstormed and thought it out, we agreed that a perfect geographical name that accurately embodies the unique collection of countries comprising our Division doesn’t exist!

All of our countries are a part of a greater Eurasia continent, and we happen to be in the middle of it.

Watch billy Boyle, YL MEA senior vice president, talk about the new name:

the same

We are passionate about introducing kids to Jesus.

why change the name?

Today, we are facing a different geopolitical landscape. The part of the world where we have our ministry is rapidly changing, ushering in what appears to be a brand-new era.

Adapting a new Divisional name helps us reflect this changing climate and look forward to the future.

what is the inspiration behind all the beautiful colors and graphics?

Similar to the name selection, choosing colors for our Division was a challenge and, at the same time, a fun adventure.

It took us on an exploratory tour all over our region, looking at dozens and dozens of different elements, from textures to architectural detail.

The colors

The graphical mosaic of our new YL MEA brand were inspired by the beautiful patterns found in the architecture, art, folklore, and traditional patterns of the Slavic and Muslim cultures in our part of the world.

The lovely palette of colors is based on the colors of the country flags within the Young Life Middle EurAsia Division.

As we explored our Division as a whole, we thought that these colors also beautifully solidify the focus words that represent who we are:

deep, heart, courageous, resilient, resourceful, fun-loving, youthful, hopeful, future, new beginning, unifying, passionate, and family.

The Flower

The image of a flower represents beauty raised from ashes – the magnificent work God has been and is still doing in our part of the world.

Mosaic-like petals point to the diversity and depth of tradition, culture and history of each country.

As each one has its own, together we create one family, one church, one tightly-knit community filled with beauty, hope, and love.

"...to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning..." Isaiah 61:3

what's next?

As we turn the page and start the new chapter under a new name, everything else remains the same.

We are still the Division that tirelessly and joyfully proclaims the good news of Jesus’ love to ALL kids, no matter which country, city, or village they are in.

We are still building deep friendships with kids, earning the right to be heard.

We are still passionate about shining His light on those around us through the way we love.

We thank you for walking this exciting journey with us. It’s been quite a ride, and we look forward to continuing the work God has prepared for all of us to do in that part of the world.
