Quarterly Update

  • A year-long Believe discipleship program was launched this fall. It is intense training for the club kids who have chosen to follow Jesus to become Young Life leaders at completion.
  • Winter camps begin in January and will run for five weeks.
  • On January 6th (the Armenian Christmas), YL leaders will be inviting kids to attend the Christmas service at the new church in Yerevan. Please pray for those who will be experiencing church for the first time.
  • Club Joyful volunteered to provide gifts for the refugee kids from Artsakh. Pray for provision – the gifts and the volunteers to distribute them.
  • Eight students from Grand Canyon University will be traveling on the Expeditions trip to Armenia in March. Please pray for the travel preparations and the life-changing experience as they serve at camp.
  • Other prayer requests: for committed leaders, for kids' hearts to be open to hear the Gospel, and for God's hand upon the leaders serving in spiritually hostile areas.

Armenia is a unique country, dating back to about 4000 B.C. It was the first state in the world to adopt Christianity as its official religion.

Armenia is landlocked, and it lies in the highlands surrounding the mountains of Ararat. Mount Ararat is a symbol of Armenia. Biblically, after the flood waters subsided, Noah’s ark landed on Mount Ararat. “And the ark rested in the seventh month on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat.” Genesis 8:4

Young Life Armenia brings the Gospel of Jesus Christ to kids throughout this beautiful country. Today, amid economic and political tensions, kids, more than ever before, need to know of the hope they can have in Jesus.

Current Realities

Tens of thousands of Armenians are currently fleeing the neighboring Azerbaijan into Armenia as a result of the Armenian defeat in the long-standing war with Azerbaijan. The influx of refugees will impact the Young Life ministry, and we invite you to pray that God will use it to further His kingdom.

The video dates back to the war between the two countries in 2020, Watch it to learn more about its aftermath, and how God has been raising beauty from the ashes in that part of the world.
