Ministry Updates
- Fall has been a busy season for the YL leaders. Hundreds of kids have been attending weekly clubs, yearning to hear the message of hope. Pray for these young people and the truth of Jesus to penetrate their hearts.
- New ministry started in Taldykogran, Kazakhstan, just last summer. Within six months, over forty kids attended the club, with ten joining the local church. Pray for more kids to be open to the good news of Jesus.
- God is moving in Azerbaijan, with the YL ministry budding for teens and kids with special needs. Pray for the doors to open and for committed leaders to join in.
- A new club is opening up in Naryn in Kyrgyzstan, led by a handful of Young Life leaders. Since last summer, a few kids have grown into a group of 50! Pray for these kids, the upcoming winter camping season, and their safety and protection.
- In Tajikistan, God continues to work through the Capernaum ministry for kids with special needs. These kids and their mothers and siblings get to hear the Gospel in a safe and welcoming environment. Pray for God’s wisdom and direction for these families and their newly found faith inside the Muslim homes.
- An annual Advent Project was a huge success this year! 500 Advent Packages were distributed to the families of kids with special needs, each getting an opportunity to learn the story of Christmas. Read Svetlana's story to learn more.
Central Asia is a region in Asia that stretches from the Caspian Sea in the west to China and Mongolia in the east, and from Afganistan and Iran in the south to Russia in the North.
The region consists of the former Soviet republics of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
Our Young Life staff operates in dangerous, underground secrecy in these countries as Christians on a mission to reach the next kid with the Gospel and provide emotional support and care to them. Christian persecution is something they face on a daily basis.
This is an exciting time of growth for the Young Life ministry in Central Asia. Leaders are prayerfully determined and innovative as they seek out opportunities to know kids and spend time with them. This might look like taking kids snowboarding in the nearby mountains, putting together an Advent program, or throwing a birthday party
