Story of two sisters

Story of two sisters
This story was told to us by Ted and Lena Siceak, our Area Directors in Moldova.
This past year a couple of Young Life leaders felt God was tugging on their hearts.
"I want you to go to an orphanage", He said. "Kids there need to hear the good news."
"Ok, God. We will."
As easy as it may sound, there was nothing simple about saying 'yes'.
You see orphanages in Moldova and other countries in that part of the world tend to be extremely closed to outsiders. To get in you need to have a social services background, and only then can you qualify for a special permit.
But, that is only half the battle.
A Young Life leader, whose goal is to build relationships with kids, must turn that special permit into a 'permanent visitor pass'. That means they must also win the approval of the ladies who run the orphanage. And, that is no small feat. If those ladies don’t like you, no permit will help you.
But, God had it covered.
That day when our leaders stepped inside the orphanage, He opened the door so wide that nothing could stand in the way.
Two sisters were living at the orphanage at the time. Their parents abandoned them five years before leaving them to fend for themselves.
When the leaders arrived, the girls' hearts leaped for joy. Life at the orphanage was very mundane so whenever anyone new showed up it was a big deal.
You can imagine how excited all those kids were when their guests invited them to play games! Fun games! Skits, crafts, yummy snacks, music, even small presents... and it seemed like it was all made just for them...
A week later the leaders came back and spent another unforgettable afternoon with the kids. And they did it again the week after. And the week after that. The orphanage ladies didn't mind.
Some time later during the summer, the orphanage agreed to send a small group of kids to a Young Life summer camp. And, the sisters started packing their bags.
If there could have been a week that was better than the 'best week of their lives', then this would have been it. The girls and the rest of the kids from the orphanage never had so much fun. They were never treated with so much love, respect and care.
When the call to repentance came during the last club, the two sisters made the decision to accept Jesus. As they prayed they asked Him if He would help them reunite with their family.
The camp ended and the kids went back to the orphanage. A week later, one of the Young Life leaders got a phone call.
“The girls’ mother contacted the orphanage and wanted to be back in their lives. She was willing to go through the legal process to make it happen.”
As the leader hung up the phone, her eyes filled with tears and her heart with gratitude. She had seen answered prayers before, but this one felt different.
God was writing His story in the lives of these girls. And, He gave her the chance to be a part of it.
You too are a part of this beautiful story.
And it is not over. There is a journey that lies ahead of this family, most likely not an easy one. But, we can stand in faith for these girls and their mom. We can pray and trust God, who began a good work in them to complete it.
To Him be all the glory!
